Where The Halls Lead

‘Tis been far to long since my last entry. But that is beside the point. The other day, (and let me say, I use that term very loosely, it was probably more of a month or 2 ago) I was walking down the hallway, and I heard a student yelling at another student. Nothing new of course, this is Sunset we’re talking about, not some Christian prep school. No, that was not surprising in and of itself. The bit that caught me off guard a little was the subject matter in which they were conversing about. “Where the hell is my fucking child support” are I believe the words that the woman said. The rest of the conversation escapes me (the rest of the 30 second clip I heard anyway) but they went on to discuss how the guy was late on paying her and on and on.

Besides making me a little skittish to get out of there, this kinda made me a little sad. Why should a student in high school have to deal with that kinda stuff? Who would put themselves in that kind of situation? But at the same time, I can’t help but feel some respect for her, because, even though she does have a kid, she’s still in school. How much determination she must have is beyond me.

That is all for now. As much as I like her, Norah Jones makes me sleepy.
