Whos up for another Pink Martini?

For those of you who are becoming impatient for blog entries, know that I was away at grandmas house for the last 2 days. And for the rest of you who didn’t really care that much is my next post was tomorrow or 2 weeks from now, well, I would just like you to know that I spent the last 2 days at my grandmas in beautiful Prineville Oregon.

Well, I just got back from the Pink Martini concert at the Shnitz, were, even 2 rows up down from the top, it was AMAIZING! I think they will be broadcasting that concert in May on OPB, so do keep an eye out for that. For those of you who have never heard of Pink Martini, go to their website below and check it out. Amazing! So that was completely thrilling (and im not being sarcastic in any way at all!) and now im at home writing this, as my parents and Berkeley are out to get “a few” drinks, which means they are probably going to call me and have me come pick them up… which sucks… but hey, its new years!!! I hope that 2005 treated all of you quite well, and that, when reminiscing, you will find that it wasn’t a complete waste of time. And even if it was, soon, it shall be 2006, and time for you to start it all over again.
Goodnight, and have a very happy new year.

Well, it has been a few days, most of which have been spent encoding video for my iPod, a long and at times frustrating process. im using a couple free programs, one of which is called iSquint. Now, that’s a really good program because it can do multiple files at once, you don’t have to keep dragging new ones in every time one is finished. but it only encodes 95% of the things you put on that list. anyway so it can take a while to figure out which it hasn’t encoded and use MPEG StreamClip to do the remaining files... *Yawn* quite a boring topic. on a slightly less boring note, although, still quite boring and time consuming was looking up information on colleges and what kind of classes i would want to take. after a little bit of research, i came up with the fallowing areas of study: Graphics Design, Visual Effects and Motion Graphics, Computer Engineering, and computer Science. now, as you can tell, all the career paths that fallow each of those courses will most likely completely rot one half of my brain; 2 of them are completely analytical, and 2 are completely artsy. i still need to try to find something more in the middle... anyway though, so i spent forever trying to organize all the data that i was getting, and finally, i remembered about the program Keynote which is like PowerPoint, but better, because its REALLY easy to use (i pretty much taught myself how to use it at school in half an hour) but it was still a bit of a bitch making everything work... anyway, like i said, also rather dry... the only other thing i can think of that i did was watch how to loose a guy in 10 days, which wasn’t that bad for being a complete chick flick...

Good god, All of that, and i didnt mention a THING about the only thign that anybody might really care about if they were to care about anything ive ever written...Christmas! well, lets see, the biggest thing that i got was a 60 Gig iPod. going from there, a key to the van(though not the actual van...) Batman Begins, The Penultimate peril by lemony snicket, a clock, some candy, and of course, what Christmas is complete without cloths!? honestly, i got 3 shirts, all of which were too small... im still trying to figure if i should be flattered by that or offended.... anyway, yes, that was what i got, and if you havent already told me what you got, or if you have and you want to tell me again, do tell...

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Well, here we are on the eve of Christmas, once again, this will only be the 17th time in my life I have seen such an event, but so much of its luster and mystery has already been taken from this holiday. I will probably not toss and turn tonight waking up every 10 minutes waiting for the first sign of light to run downstairs with my little sister and marvel at all the gifts and then sit at watch the crappy shows that are on at 5 in the morning on Christmas day until our parents come down... no, that time has gone... Now, I’ll probably sleep soundly, and awaken reluctantly at 10 am... anyway though, this morning, we made a Swiss cookie called Brazeli which is made kina like a waffle and has 5 imprudence: 9.5 cups of flower, 12 eggs, 1 pound of butter, 3 cups sugar, orange zest, and salt (which I just now realized we forgot) anyway, you put that all together and stick it in a special Brazeli iron (kinda like a waffle iron) and BAM! 210 cookies (and no, that’s not a typo) and they are GOOD. Anyway, we had a huge dinner, and now I can hardly move. In any event… WHY ARE YOU HERE!?!? Go spend Christmas with your family… unless you reading this after Christmas… in which case… that’s ok…

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

What a day, to be sure...

Wow, today was truly, a noteworthy day, filled with things that I am just dying to talk about! There was just, so much excitement, it wasn’t even funny! Anyway, well, I started off by getting to chauffeur dad around but we got to go to skyline for lunch and it was Friday, so that means calm chowder day! Thank god! SO GOOD. But anyway, then I got home and wrapped my presents in newspaper with a stripe of colored tissue paper, so in the end, it didn’t look too bad.

Just prior, during, and after, I was (I still am too) talking to Alex, first via cell phone, and then, on skype. Which, I was wrapping them on my bed, and I brought my mic on my bed, and I never realized how long that mic cord is. It stretched half way across my room! And its not like my room is come cubicle either. I mean, that cord was really long!

Anyway, so I got my dad this weather station for Christmas but its huge!!! And there’s no way to really wrap it, because its not likes it’s in a box or anything, you know, so I stretched one of his shirts around it. Which was horrible, because, im sure one day in the future, he will actually want to wear that shirt…

KewlBox Reviewed

KewlBox is a website that has a bunch of games that are geared toward teens. Hence the spelling of kewl. Though, when my mom told me about it, i was like "f that" mostly because my mom suggested it. But i did end up going there, and it’s actually not THAT bad of a place. The game i played called Santa Balls 3D (such a DIRTY name) was actually not that bad. A slightly more complex version of bejeweled, you can switch the Christmas ornaments around on 6 sides, instead of just 4. To help keep the Kewl factor up, they have an elf that sits in the corner and yells at you. Some of the stuff he said wasn’t too unKewl i got "I ain't sain she’s a gold digger" once, but after about the 900th time of "hey, your smarter than you look" and "Getter done" (WTF) it got a little old. They need to have another game were you can beat the crap out of that Mother F***er... hehe anyway do check it out, and lemmy know if there are any other good games on that site. Until next time, Stay Kewl!!

Damage Control

Well, today, we went to the farm to assess the damage of the wind that we've been having and it was so much better than it could have been. we had to wire some of the plastic on one of the greenhouses back on. but the worst of it was about some 35 sq. ft. section of plastic that had completely torn off and we were getting sandblasted with ice and like some 40 mph wind. and part of the roof on the shop got completely taken off. but there is so much stuff that could have been blown over but didnt, so it was not as bad as it could have been. i will be posting pics as soon as i get them, so check back one of these days for those.

YAY SNOW

The trip to grandma's house wasn’t as bad as i thought it would be. We saw the lion the witch and the wardrobe but one of the previews was for Pirates of the Caribbean 2, which looks SO FUCKING HOT!! Anyway, so on the way back, we got in pretty much all the way to Portland just fine, but what should have taken about 15 minutes to get home took like 2 hours. But ITS SNOW so its all for the cause! Happy days! Even my weather widget makes it look all joyful!!

Narnia Reviewed

Over all, i think it got a good 7.7/10. there were a couple of cheesy parts like the professor, but not as bad as it could have been. 9/10 times, the CG were believable, nothing too crazy. it was a tad rushed, but didnt seem as dense as Harry Potter did. My favorite line of the whole movie "I would have given you a week if i thought it would help!" Confused? GO SEE IT. i think its well worth it.

Ugh, this break looks to be all fulled up!

Im screwing over the french today because im in a bit of a rush. Tonight we are driving down to my grandma and grandpas place in grands pass, which kinda sucks because as soon as we actualy get vacation, im going to be spending 4 hours in a car which wouldnt be so bad if it wasnt pitch black. But i will be back on sunday, so thats not too bad... as long as i remember to get the charger for my iPod... i really hope that this trip will be more fun than im projecting it will be.. Be back on sunday so, until then, signing off.

Been a while

Well, on Saturday, i delivered come xmas trees with my dad and then got dropped at Arps for his bday party. Lindsay, Allyson, Fuji, Nina, and Emily Ritchie. That was fun. we watched the core and ate pizza and mingled. Allyson and Lindsay and i slept over and left about noonish on Sunday after finishing mario party -12 or some ancient version on the N64. Then was whisked off Christmas shopping and got half of that done. Then got home and worked on homework. Today was.. well Monday. Classes were short. didn’t get anything done in Art except for chatting, and in math Bekka got sick and ditched me, so i had nobody to talk to when the 15 min. of "teaching" was over. our sub was pretty cool, didnt mind people making fun of others which is like what that class is founded on. but still, no Bekka to talk to. Scams! and then i had my Media and politics meeting, which was a scam because i thought it started at 6 but really it was 6:30. so i got to sit around for like 20 min before anybody got there

Friday, December 09, 2005

Oh god, its friday!

Well, i drove by my self for the first time, and that was fun. first to Alex's house to pick up his xbox, then to dracotts house were i met one of his friends whos name i forgot. then, after about 3 hours, patric arrived to take everybody to his house (i cant carry pasengers) i was amaized, they comented on my nice car when my sister and i allways called it an old peoples car... but then agian, it was my grandpas.... fallowed Patric, dracott, Kasia and that one dude mentioned above to the dollar tree then to patts house. good stuff. after like 6 hours of trying to get all the xbox's networked, we finaly got to playing Halo 2. which kicked ass. i was the poorest player there except for Kasia, but shes only played like 4 times and for that she was doing quite well... i remember back in my beginnings. "Alex, stay here, im going to go into that room and spin in circles firing my riffle!! bring me back when i die!".... ahh, the good old days... anyway, so that was like 7:30 by the time we started. then, at only 10, my sis called and was like "Pick me up bitch" so i did. and then drove home. fun times. i was having tons of fun though, so it sucked leaving. hopefuly, we'll be able to do it again soon.

Its Soooo Cold

Well, the heater motor was pretty well shot by last night, and so it was turned off. and i pretty much froze the whole night. woke up, and died getting out of bed. Had a chem test. that went well, i swear! At was wonderful, filling out that FUCKING ACT thingy the entire time. again, a thrilling experience. art want too bad, and math, the lack of sleep really started to cach up to me, and i got a headache. and im about to drop dead so, yeah...... b hgyhehgn (head falls oh keyboard)

Tuesday, December 06, 2005

i'll give it an 8/10

Today was pretty good. started out with chem were we learned about our up coming test which i have to do really good on because i have a 64% in that class and i REALLY need a C. but its not all bad. in AT, Nina and i played like 50 games of shit head (card game) and i won the majority (by one game) so i got a $1..... in dimes.... then, during math, Mr. Cortez showed us the x-ray of his arm. all i have to say is OUCH! that would blow big time! then he started making aquard noises as he was scraching it... so i went with Bekka to the vending machines and got starburst that turned out to be the cream ones, wich for the most part taste really bad. then got to the farm and Jamie lee certis was spazzing about wraping gifts in news paper on Martha Stewert and about how much she loves games. and besides the random sheep, thats about it....

SNOW GOD DAMN IT!!!

Days off

Days off are good. well, sorta. im always really happy to sleep in, get up around 11ish. sit around and do nothing. then. i start to get bored. and this allways happens. i run out of things to do on my computer. theres nothing good on tv. and so then i just sit there and be bored waching some crappy movie. then, i see an add for burnout. and im like, ohh, i have that game.... wait, my game cube is broken....:( WAIT... maybe because its been sitting broken for the last year, it will work! and so i plug it in, and it does. and i play burn out. and i get about 10 seconds into the 2nd lap. and BOOM. disk read error. so i try it again. and get less far. and im going to take it apart and see whats wrong, maybe a wires off or something. but you cant open it because nintendo used some shitty ass screw. so, i try it again, and again, until, i give up and am sad and disscouraged.

i miss school

PS. Let it snow!

Saturday, December 03, 2005

Now i just have to try to get to go to Dracotts XBox party next weekend...

TGIF!

Wow, im really glad its friday. ya know how i beat halo? well it turns out that ripping off software sucks ass!! (not that i did that with halo or anything like that) i think i need to reinstall OSX because when i was playing it on sunday, not only did i get like 50 operating system errors, it killed my iTunes Music Library, so i have to redo all my playlists, ratings, playcounts and so on and so forth. so that sucks ass. but i guss thats what i get for partaking in downloading games of questionable legality (not that im talking about halo or anything) but its all good. ITS FRIDAY and i am starting to make my christmas playlist so thats happy! CHILDREN GO WERE I SEND THEE! HOW SHAL I SEND THEE? anyway. haha
YAY, THE 3 DAY WEEKEND IS APON US!!

Thursday, December 01, 2005
