interesting quote

Normally, i try to say away from politics or other such touchy issues. However, this was to good.

Fishies

I just downloaded this really sweet program simply called “Fish”. It’s a cool virtual aquarium that lets you create fish and set them loose in a huge virtual pond and watch them as they swim around being fishies. Its one of those programs were your glad when you have 2 monitors, so you can have all the benefits of having a fish without having to maintain a real fish tank. Its actually surprisingly relaxing to watch. All the little fishies swimming around, doin their own little thing…

Take them out!

My god! It’s the last day before school starts, and I still have to read this history packet! Who’s idea was this anyway? To give homework over summer break?! Honestly!

2016

Summer is ending soon. This takes me, and many of the people that I know, into their final year of high school. According to her MySpace, it was Chalesa’s Birthday yesterday. Having just found out, I was quick to add this event to iCal and set it to repeat every year, as I have done with all the rest of the birthdays. But as I did that, I realized, how many more of her birthdays will I even bother to note? This time next year, I’ll have begun packing up to head off to college. Sure, I might send off an email quick, but then what? When the end of August comes around in 2016, will I even remember what she looks like, or the fact that it took a lot of pleading to get her to sit down at lunch? Will she remember anything about me?

Its so sad to think that almost everybody I know now will all but be forgotten in the years to come. We will all move on with our lives. To go where others cannot fallow, and maybe, not see or hear from each other again. The end of an era approaches. I just hope I don’t let the last little bit of it disappear without regard.

Campus Visit

Yesterday, my parents and I embarked on a journey to visit the campus of Western Washington University. We left at like 7:30 pm, and arrived in Bellingham Washington at about 12:30 in the morning. We got up at 9:45ish, got breakfast, and headed out to rendezvous with our 11am tour guide. To my surprise, there were like 10 other kids there, who, when with their parents, made to be a fairly formidable crowd. Anyway, so the campus is really beautiful. Its located on a hillside over looking the San Juan Islands. And though most of the campus is separated from this view by lots of trees, the dormitories have million dollar views. Itssss pretty sweet!

Ocean Breathes Salty

Well, I just got back from the cannon beach, were we (me, Ranann, Mom, Dad, Grandma Marge, Aunt Cindy, Uncle Mike (visiting from Oklahoma) and their docsond Libby) stayed at a beach house that we rent from some guy. Wonderful card games (like spades, hearts, and rummy) a nice wood stove, walks on the beach, dinners and way too much chocolate cake left the entire reunion with a very pleasant aftertaste.

Tomorrow, I’m going to fly up to Bellingham Washington to check out Western Washington University. Ugh, and I still need to put up some pics of the finished livingroom…

Tis here and beautiful!

Well, just got back from camping in eastern Oregon. Friday, Saturday and today were full of 4-hour car trips, lakes with weeds, swimming, pictures, campfires and a huge lack of sleep due to highly uncomfortable conditions.

Anyway, enough of that nonsense. To the truly important! I got my macbook today. As soon as we drove up to the house, I unpacked as fast as I could and took the car to the farm. There, the beautiful box (not really, just some brown cardboard shitter) await me. So I grabbed it, drove back home, took a shower (finally, after 3 days!) and started unpacking. First thing first, I had to rip it open (which involved popping out the battery and unscrewing 3 screws) and shoved the gig of RAM that I bought for it a while ago in. I then found out that the bigger hard drive I got is not compatible with the macbook (cuz the macbooks is state of the art, yay… and boo)

That’s that story, anyway, im getting it all settled in now, its pretty sweet! An inch thin, really fast, I can run windows (*Shutters*), has a camera built in for video conferencing (though nobody else has a webcam :( )

The Eleven O'clock Scramble

its really sad cuz until recently, ive been talking to pretty much nobody from school, and now that the summers winding down, its like some psychotic bitch fest trying to start talking to everybody again. and of course, for like half of the rest of the time before now and when school starts, we've got a bunch of family stuff going on.

And now, an update:

well, the living room is, for all practical purposes completely finished. The fireplace is done and beautiful, the floors got waxed so theyre all shiny. life is good. we are actually going camping (again! >:( I cant believe this sh**, i get in here to take a shower and the g** damn waters cold!)(I think only alex will laugh) (is that enough side points or should i through some more in?)(ohh, my MacBook will be here on the 15th!!!)

SO, this Monday after camping, we are going to go and buy a new couch and then move all the furniture back in. and we will finally be done! YAY! UNTIL THEN MY PRETTIES!

Must become RICH!

The last 3 days have been packed with doing all sorts of things. One Tuesday, I picked up Alex at noon and after stopping off at Ben & Jerry’s, headed to my house. Bout a half hour after arriving we went to go see Devil Wears Prada (4/5 stars) That night, we also watched Donny Darco (really weird, 2/5) and Flight Plan (3/5) and tragically, Soul Plane (some funny, but really retarded. 2/5) We also through together a pretty funny addition to our “Gardening Tip of the Day” which can be seen here: (I would normally put a link here, but youtube is under construction, so just search the name in quotes above)

Anyway, around 5ish, his dad came to pick him up, and my dad and I finally got back to work on the fireplace. Yes, we poured the concrete to resurface the hearth and let it dry overnight. Today, we laid out all the tiles to see how to get the arranged, and after some reconfiguring, we got it to work. (Tomorrow, we might actually get some up!) Then, we went to see the street of dreams, which was amazing. God, those houses were all just so nice, it reminded me to hurry up and get my ass rich! Anyway, that’s it. Until another day.
